GeoEn Joint Research Partners

The joint research project GeoEn enables a stronger cooperation in the field of energy research between the georessouces of energy research in the sections of GFZ, the institutes of UP and the chairs of BTU. Other academic and non-academic research partners as well as companies in the Berlin/Brandenburg region and germanwide are integrated. With this participation the existing core competences of both universities and the GFZ will be completed with innovative approaches in teaching and research. The research location for "geoenergy research" will be strengthen effectively.

Energy engineering and management of CO₂-storage, geothermal energy and shale gas are a geoscientific key aspect of the Potsdam location, whereas the competence of power plant technology / CO₂-combustion lies at the BTU and completes the joint research project.
